Congress on Production Research 2016
At the congress on production research 2016 on 23 and 24 June 2016 in the bcc, Berlin
"innovations for production, service and work of tomorrow" were presented.
The Forum was initiated by the „Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF)” .The “Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT)” is the developer of the project. There, the current state
of research and the latest results on current topics such as industry 4.0 and future production technologies were presented.
Under the item of agenda "Manual assembly meets automation", Stephanie Weimann, Goetze KG and Bernd Kemmler, Managing Director of Kemmler + Riehle GmbH & Co. KG, presented the results of the "Robokoop" project.
Research on the topic of "Integration of a Lightweight Robot in the Environment of Assembly Workplaces" provided important insights for a changing production. Individual customer requirements tend to lead to smaller batch sizes. New products and the advancing globalization have made it difficult to predict fluctuations in demand. Companies must therefore act more flexibly, while making production more sustainable and resource-efficient.
